Over 30 years between the classroom and the industry floor.
My name is Muhammad Iftikhar, widely known as Professor Ifti. I'm a full-time faculty member at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) — the largest institution in the Commonwealth of Virginia — teaching Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Cloud Computing at the Manassas campus, within the Information and Engineering Technology division.
I'm currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Technology with a concentration in Cyber Engineering, focused on secure system design, identity and access management, and cybersecurity architecture. I hold an MS in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, an MBA in Information Management, and undergraduate degrees in Education and Computer Science.
My instructional approach centers on competency-based learning, certification alignment, and scenario-driven instruction — the same philosophy that shapes every book I write.
